Our digital object therefore has two bases of different types. The first is the digital transcription of the 14th volume. It is a diplomatic transcription that is presented through a digital edition on Twine. The second is a database cataloging the plant species observed by Humboldt and Bonpland in New Granada enriched with geographical data. The final idea is to be able to navigate between these two bases to follow a plant name from the text to the database and vice versa. In this way, we introduce two different means to study plant: in the text and in a synthetic view.
